Each school in the district is invited to nominate outstanding educators for recognition. An awards committee selects winners who each receive a $1000 cash award. His or her school receives $500.  Some of the criteria for nominations include qualities that set the teacher apart from others; his or her support of student learning outside the classroom; teaching style, attitude, and values that contribute to student success; and projects that make a difference in students’ lives.
