Learning for Life Pilot Program
HOME

Learning for Life (LFL) is a school-based character education development and career education program for grades K-12. This program has been approved by Jordan School District as a pilot program at Westvale Elementary School. Jordan Education Foundation supports the pilot program, and contributed $5,000 for implementation for each of the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school years.

How It Works
LFL was developed to meet the critical need for character education of our nation's young people. Its mission is to help schools and communities instill values of good character, citizenship, and personal fitness as a foundation that will prepare young people to make ethical choices throughout their lives. The numerous lessons per grade--on themes such as Accepting Consequences, Never Give Up, Respecting Differences, Gangs, and Violence Prevention--are flexible. They can be taught as self-contained lessons or adapted easily to be part of existing core curriculum courses. - Character Building with Learning for Life, a research study conducted by Syndics Research Corporation and Dr. Kevin Ryan, Boston University.
