Jordan Education Foundation requires fundraisers to be registered with the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Consumer Protection as a Professional Fundraiser OR Commercial Co-venturer

To be included on JEF's "Approved Fundraiser List" as a Professional Fundraiser, please submit the following:

1. JEF Fund Raiser Vendor Information Form/Application; AND

2. Photocopy of the Professional Fundraiser Permit from the State of Utah Department of Commerce.  (Click HERE for the Professional Fundraiser Permit Application.)

To be included on JEF's "Approved Fundraiser List" as a Commercial Co-Venturer (see definition below), please submit the following:

1. JEF Fund Raiser Vendor Information Form/Application; AND

2. Photocopy of letter from the State of Utah Department of Commerce confirming your designation as a Commercial Co-Venturer. 

(*There is no state application for Commercial Co-Venturer.  In order to receive a letter from the state, you must submit application to the state via correspondence. If your company is regularly and primarily engaged in trade or commerce, other than in connection with the soliciting for charitable organizations or purposes, you will need to request a letter from the State of Utah Department of Commerce designating your Fundraising efforts as a Commercial Co-Venturer. )

 

Utah Code 13-22-2.11 requires that professional fund-raisers register with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection within the Utah Department of Commerce. Organizations must have either a Professional Fundraiser Permit or a Commercial Co-venturer letter. Contact the Utah Division of Consumer Protection (http://consumerprotection.utah.gov/registrations, 160 East 300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111, Phone: 801-530-6601, Toll-Free: 1-800-721-SAFE, Fax: 801-530-6001) to determine whether or not you need to register as a professional fundraiser. Applicants will need to provide a copy of the letter provided by Utah Department of Commerce indicating the status of the represented company (either as a commercial co-venturer or a professional fundraiser) with the application form.
