HUNGRY KIDS CAN'T LEARN!

JEF helps to eliminate hunger in Jordan School District allowing our kids to focus on their education. 

 

Did you know, there are nearly 5,000 students in Jordan School District who lack basic nutrition on weekends? Thanks to donors like you, these students are able to receive non-perishable food items from JEF's Principal's Pantries.

Jordan Education Foundation, a nonprofit 501c3 charity dedicated to supporting the success and well-being of students in our district, raises funds each year to stock and supply Principal’s Pantries in Jordan District. The program feeds Jordan School District's homeless & refugee student population, those in need of emergency assistance and other hungry students in a variety of circumstances and situations.

Your donation to the Principal's Pantry will go a long way in support of our students and their education.

From one of our recipient schools:

“The food in our Pantry makes it possible for our faculty and staff to be able to share food and snacks with students and families that would otherwise go without. Teachers and the office staff have always tried to keep food and snacks on hand to help out children who are hungry at school. This food most often came from our own homes and our own budgets. With the Principal's Pantry, we now have plenty of food on hand to share with our students. It has truly filled a need!”

WEEKEND PACKS  (Please place the following in a 2-gallon size seal-able bag)

  • (2) Macaroni & Cheese Micro Cups (ie: Kraft Easy Mac cups) – Individual Servings – 2.5oz cups

  • (2) Cup Noodles Chicken Flavor (ie: Nissan Cup O Noodles) – Individual Servings – 2.5oz cups

  • (2) Squeezable Fruit – Individual Serving – 3-4oz pouch

  • (4) Instant Oatmeal, any flavor – Individual Servings – 2oz pouch

  • (2) Beef Sticks

  • (2) Granola Bars – Individual Servings - .85oz to 1.5oz size

  • (2) Cheese Crackers (ie: Goldfish Crackers – 1.5 oz bags) or Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers – Individual Servings Packs 

  • (2) Shelf Stable, Ready to Drink, Chocolate Milk, High in Protein (ie: Nestle Quick, Instant Breakfast or similar) – Individual Servings – 8oz bottles.

  • (1) Can Chili

  • (1) Can Hearty Soup

  • (1) Beef Stick 

  • (1) Granola Bar – Individual Servings - .85oz to 1.5oz size

MEAL KITS

Spring, fall and holiday breaks can be a welcome reprieve from school for students, teachers and staff, but for many students school break comes with a worry of where their next meal will come from. 

Below are ideas for whole meal kits. The links below provide suggested lists of items found on Amazon.com for creating these kits. With your help we can provide students with a variety of food to keep them from going hungry during school breaks. 

Unable to put the packs together? That's okay!  We accept individual food items and can put meals kits together in-house.
